Hidden Radio

MY "HIDDEN" RADIO
I didn't want to put the stereo in the glove box or console, and I definitely didn't want to use an under dash carriage, so I put it IN the dash. And they said it couldn't be done... Basically, I used the AM radio as a base. Ran some screws up to the new sleeve, and cut a brace for the back of it. It took a few adjustments to clear the windshield wiper arm and still leave room for the flip face, but it works great now. Good luck trying to steal this deck in under 5 minutes!

Looks stock doesn't it? You wouldn't guess that there's a stereo in there.

I used velcro to keep the panel in place. It also makes for easy handling. I left a small pull tab for easier access.

Fully opened and ready to play.

And here's how I change channels, volume, and discs. Simple, and no reaching.
